If you're anything like me, you own tons of lipsticks and lip glosses all born in the search for the "perfect" lip-coating. You know - Enough color that you don't look washed out, but not too much for everyday. Glossy so you look fresh and young but no glitter for work/people taking you seriously. Oh, and preferably something that doesn't come with a wand because they splatter and flip out of your hand. I mean, seriously! Why must this be so hard?
Well, I have found an answer to my lipstick/gloss prayers: Yves Saint Laurent's Volupte Sheer Candy - Glossy Balm Crystal Color. Yes, that's an unnecessarily long name for "gloss in a tube" but trust me - it's fab. I personally love the Mouthwatering Berry for work (red but not that too-red-for-day-even-if-you-do-live-in-the-Hamptons as oft sported by Ms. Ashley Davenport) and the Succulent Pomegranate is perfect for fun/warmer temps. And because they're in a tube they never leak or drip, so you can comfortably apply en route to any appointment or occasion risk free.
But what if you want something just pretty for a Sunday/everyday? Try Dior Addict Lip Glow. First, thank you, Dior, for picking a less tiresomely vague name. Second and even better, the sheer gloss does, truly, make your lips glow in the way you hoped Smashbox's O-Gloss would deliver before it turned your lips fuchsia (which is fun if you were going for that, way too much if not). Soft, pretty, moisturizing, in a tube sans wand...love it!
